"Cars used to be built to last": an ITV technician shows off a 20-year-old Toyota with 600,000 kilometers and leaves no one indifferent.

“Cars used to be built to last.” It's a mantra constantly repeated among automotive professionals, such as mechanics, and those who simply love cars.
They argue that current versions, with so many electronics and computers, break down much more easily. Furthermore, because they use such sophisticated parts, they are difficult to repair, increasing costs for both the mechanic and the customer.
The @la_itv_ TikTok account is run by a car mechanic who works at the Vehicle Inspection Service (ITV). In his videos, he shares vehicle tips and the condition of many of them. In his latest upload, he shows the condition of a Toyota with over 600,000 kilometers on the clock.
The first thing that matters is the engine, as it has a 3.0-liter inline-four diesel engine, described by the mechanic as "super reliable." Not only that, but the torque it delivers is "very consistent."
Used for going over land and through difficult placesRegarding the chassis parts, the video user comments that it's a vehicle designed to be used off-road, and that's how it's been used given its condition. Finally, he says the front axle is "very robust."
